A Spring Bento and Craft

March 30, 2011

Today is Van Gogh's birthday and at storytime the children created a sunflower masterpiece. They also planted a sunflower seed. Penelope's is very excited about this and keeps checking to see if her sunflower has grown yet. I made her a spring bento for lunch today because I thought it sorta fit with the theme.

She had cheese sunflowers with carrot stick stems and leaves, a butterfly turkey sandwich with grape spots, and orange chunks. She also ate some chips and salsa and a Milano cookie.

She glued popcorn kernels, black beans, peas, and wheat puffs to create her sunflower art.
