I Feel...

April 11, 2012

We have a subscription to BabbaBox which I have mentioned in a previous post. BabbaBox is awesome! Every month we receive a wonderful box filled with great crafts to create and fun things to explore. Penelope is always so excited when she receives her green package in the mail and the both of us always have so much fun going through all the contents. This months BabbaBox theme was feelings and there was a neat little craft inside that I thought I would share with you all.

It's hard for little ones to express how they are feeling and sometimes this may be a little frustrating for a child and may cause some difficult moments. With this craft we created feeling magnets. Babbaco provided us with faces on cardboard paper expressing different feelings and emotions that Penelope could color and cut out. Happy, Angry, Silly, Surprised (we actually changed this one to sick), Scared and Sad. Penelope also wanted to add a Hungry and a Sleepy face. We were also provided with magnet strips to stick to the back of each face and a cardboard paper frame to decorate and display our faces. Basically you stick the frame onto your refrigerator and your child can easily express to you how she is feeling by putting the appropriate face in the center. Penelope loved this idea and after all the hard work of creating this craft she immediately displayed the hungry face, and after a snack, the happy face, and shortly after the sleepy face.  She is having so much fun expressing her feelings! These are very easy to make and it is such a great  way to help your child express themselves and for you to be able to start a discussion with your child about why she is feeling a certain way.
