Penelope and I went to Sacajawea Lake this morning to play in the park. It was the perfect weather day for me, cloudy and cold. I took a couple of pictures of Penelope swinging away and a picture of her looking at her little ducky friends
.
Here are a couple of pictures of her friends I thought came out pretty good.
This one's my favorite.

I also wanted to tell you about an online store called Taffy Tree. They sell taffy of course! They have some different flavors then your usual taffy, like Rum and Chocolate Chip Cookie! While I am not a big taffy eater, I have to admit some of the flavors sound quite appealing. I won a $40 gift certificate so I look forward to trying some. $40 worth of taffy! I better go check my calendar and see who is having a birthday soon. :p

Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!!
I'm going to be so mad if those fireworks wake Penelope up tonight. ;) Some patriotic person/s decided to hold their own fireworks show last night and Penelope kept waking up screaming. Needless to say we had a rough night and I don't want a repeat of it.
Look, poor Mr. Rat can't find anywhere to hide. Penelope found him under her bed trying to snooze today and crawled under after him.

Penelope signed "eat" today to let me know she was in need of some more sweet potato puffs. She is so funny! Look at her hiding from me because she did not want to go to sleep!
This little girl has quite the personality!
So remember a couple of posts back when I mentioned the website Mix My Granola and how I had won a $15 gift certificate. We received our granola today and Chris and I were both very pleased. It came packaged in a tube and they did not skimp on ingredients. The pomegranate cordials are really good! So again I tell you go order some granola!

This morning I caught a deer eating the plants in our yard. I didn't mind since we are planning to pull those plants out anyway. So far the deer have not touched my garden, unfortunately I cannot say the same about the bugs! I don't know what it is exactly but some little critter has managed to eat my entire Thai chili pepper and Jalapeno plants. Grrr...I am so mad! It happened while I was in San Diego. Chris bought some bug killer and we have been using it. The Thai and Jalapeno plants are goners the other plants have yet to be munched on. We are thinking of moving the plants to the deck in planters or Chris said he could see about making me a small greenhouse. I hate having to spray something on the plants to keep the bugs away even if it's suppose to be safe. My tomato and lettuce has not started to grow. I am thinking the seeds were bad. Oh well...I have been trying to care for my garden everyday, weeding and watering but it's not looking hopeful. Total bummer too because the remaining pepper plants are starting to bud and I am going to be so angry if something eats them! Look Chris the grass needs to be mowed! ;p
Lake Sacajawea is a man made lake and park that runs about 120 acres in the center of Longview, Washington. There is fishing, bike and walking trails, a playground, an arboretum, many picnic areas and benches and a beautiful Japanese garden. Last week Penelope and I had a picnic at the park and she played on the swings. I forgot to take my camera. So today I decided to take her around the Japanese garden with my camera in tow.

Penelope is really angry with buddha here.
Look how sad Penelope is in this pic about people defacing the beautiful building. People have written there names and declared there love to one another in permanent marker all over the bench and wall. Grrrrr... that makes me so mad!
Look even the signs are in Japanese!

Penelope was enjoying talking to the ducks here. Yep, she has started quacking like a duck it is so funny. She is really good at it! I am going to try to get it on video before she moves on to something else. The Japanese garden at Lake Sacajawea is so peaceful and beautiful I wish it was my backyard.
If you want more info on the Lake you can check it out here ............
We just found out today that Chris is going to have to work over another week because a couple of guys got ill. :( He was suppose to be home Wednesday and I am so bummed he is not going to be. So it's just baby girl and me for another week. She has got to be so bored of me already!
Oh my gosh! It has been so hot here this last week. It looks like it is finally going to cool off a bit though. I sure hope so!
A couple of weeks ago I won a giveaway on Mom on a Mission blog. I would post the link but it doesn't seem to be working. :( Anyway, I won a Romanos Macaroni Grill Dinner Kit gift package. Apparently these dinner kits are inspired by the chefs of the Macaroni Grill restaurant chain. When I lived in Dallas I use to eat there all the time, unfortunately we do not have one here in Longview, Washington, so I am really excited about these kits. The kits include everything you need to prepare a yummy chicken pasta dinner minus the chicken and they only take about 20 minutes to make. With a nice salad and crusty bread this makes a really speedy family meal. I am looking forward to trying these when Chris gets home next week. My gift package included the 4 kits in the picture along with a stainless steel colander, stainless serving spoon and a cheese grater. What a great prize! I will write up a review when I try one of the kits sometime next week.
Penelope's first word besides momma and then dadda :p is ball. She thinks everything that is round is a ball. She is also saying bear. Pretty soon she is going to be chatting away non stop. Chris is going to enjoy that...it's going to be harder to ignore 2 female voices! ;p
