*CLOSED*Bari Koral Family Rock Band- Rock and Roll Garden Review and Giveaway

Penelope loves listening to music and lately she has been wanting to listen to the same CD over and over again. It's a cute CD but there is only so many times I can stand to listen to twinkle twinkle little star before I start to go crazy. That's why I was excited to get the chance to review Bari Koral's Family Rock Band- Rock and Roll Garden.

Penelope and I sat down to listen to this CD and it wasn't long before she was jumping to her feet and dancing around the room. She loved it and so did I. I love children's music that is innocent and fun and what I call action songs. Songs that get your little ones moving and acting out the lyrics. Their are several of these types of songs on this CD and even though this was the first time Penelope had ever heard this CD she immediately started trying to sing along and follow the songs commands. Too cute to watch! Bari Koral has a lovely voice and as an adult I can actually listen to her music and enjoy it. In fact she has been compared to artists like Jewel and Norah Jones and has even appeared with them.

Before becoming a children's music artist Bari Koral actually spent eight years touring as a successful folk/pop singer. Although she loved performing she missed her family while out on the road and decided it was time to make a change. She started performing at the Long Island Children's Museum near her hometown when another children's music artist John Medeski approached her and suggested she start writing music specifically for children. In one week she wrote six songs that would later become part of Bari Koral's Family Rock Band's self-titled 2007 debut EP.

From the Press Release: Bari loves working with children and teaches 15 music and movement classes in NYC each week at the same school where Laurie Berkner taught for many years. "Children are all about the present, they are all about the now," says Bari. "There is so much joy in NOW. Unfortunately, with adults--or even children as they get older - life can become more about 'what's next?' than now. We lose so much joy worrying about 'what's next?'"

This is really a great CD not just for children but for the whole family to enjoy. I am so glad that I won't be listening to "Twinkle Twinkle" at least for a little while. :)
To sample Bari's music or view some music videos you can visit  Currently Rock and Roll Garden is being offered at the "stocking stuffer" price of $9.99 through the end of the year, when purchased through CD Baby or Bari's website.
